Daikin Named to CDP Climate Change A List

Recognized as an advanced global company with CDP’s highest rating for climate action

OSAKA, Japan, July 17, 2025 - Daikin Industries, Ltd. was recently selected for the “A List” by CDP, an international environmental non-profit organization that operates a global environmental information disclosure system for companies and local governments, in recognition of Daikin's excellence in climate actions and environmental disclosure.

CDP is a non-profit organization, encouraging companies and local governments to promote initiatives and disclose information on environmental issues, such as greenhouse gas reduction, water conservation, and forest protection, based on requests from global institutional investors with a strong interest in environment. The organization collects, analyzes, and evaluates information concerning the environmental activities of major global companies and annually selects the companies most distinguished for their climate change initiatives and information disclosure for its “Climate Change A List.” In 2024, over 24,800 companies worldwide responded to the survey, including more than 2,100 in Japan, representing over 70% of all listed companies there.

The demand for HVAC&R (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration), which is Daikin’s main business, is expected to expand as essential social infrastructure that contributes to people’s health and supports economic growth. However, the increase in electric power consumption caused by air-conditioning use is a social problem. To promote business growth while also mitigating climate change impacts, Daikin established its “Environment Vision 2050” in 2018, which aims for net-zero greenhouse gas emissions from company business activities. To achieve this, the company set “Challenge to Achieve Carbon Neutrality” as a key theme in its strategic management plan, Fusion 25 through fiscal 2025. In addition to measures at the production stage as well as development and expansion of environmentally conscious products, the company addresses the entire value chain, including building a refrigerant recovery and reclamation system for the market.

Daikin will continue to provide comfortable air environments worldwide and contribute to achieving a decarbonized society.
