Euribor Panel update

Brussels, 24 September 2026, 17:45 CEST – The European Money Markets Institute (EMMI) today announced that Cecabank will withdraw from the Euribor panel with effect from 30 September 2026.

EMMI thanks Cecabank for its longstanding participation and commitment to Euribor since its inception.

In light of the revised Euribor methodology, EMMI and Cecabank reviewed the bank's continued participation against the applicable methodological requirements. The review concluded that, under the new framework, the bank's activity no longer supports continued participation.

The revised methodology introduced updated eligibility criteria for underlying transactions and discontinued Level 3 contributions. These changes further strengthened the benchmark's transaction-based approach while reducing the operational burden on contributing banks. Following consultation with the Euribor College of Supervisors, ESMA concluded that Cecabank's withdrawal does not affect the representativeness of Euribor.

Changes in the composition of the Euribor panel are a natural outcome of its governance and help ensure that the benchmark remains representative of the underlying market.

The panel brings together a diverse range of banks, ensuring broad market coverage while reflecting a wide variety of business models and geographic markets.
