Weber Shandwick Belgium invests in new talent across content, integrated media & digital
BRUSSELS, Weber Shandwick, one of the world’s leading communications and public affairs agencies, announced the expansion of its Belgian business with the hire of four new consultants bringing the total of its Belgian market team to 14 consultants.
Business within the Belgian market continues to grow, and the agency has experienced strong growth in the recent months, which has led Weber Shandwick to invest in the local market offer which nicely complements its international offer. The Belgian market team is headed up by Erik Lenaers, who is also part of the senior leadership team for Weber Shandwick Brussels.
The new hires see Liedewij Verbiest, Kevin Scheers, Shelley Dockx and Lisa De Bonnet joining the Brussels-based agency, which also has a presence in Ghent to cater for an increasing number of clients hailing from the region.
Two manager profiles reinforce the team, Liedewij Verbiest and Kevin Scheers. Liedewij is a seasoned consultant who previously worked at Famous Relations, specialising in media relations and client project management. She will take on the role of media relations consultant. Kevin has more than 6 years of experience in public relations consulting, focusing on B2B and B2C projects, content creation and crisis communications. He left Ketchum to join Weber Shandwick in September as an Account Director Integrated Media.
In today’s multi-channel and multi-faceted communications environment, Weber Shandwick supports clients with strategic support and by creating integrated innovative and impactful campaigns. Our team reflects this integrated way of working and creates inspiring cultural content; to support with this aspect, two specialised profiles have joined the team, Shelley Dockx and Lisa De Bonnet. Shelley worked as a communication specialist for different agencies for more than two years followed by in-house communications experience. She will work as a senior content associate, coordinating the editorial team for excellent content creation. Lisa recently graduated and did several digital traineeships in communication agencies. She will work as a paid expert, planning paid social media campaigns.
These four external hires further reinforce the agency’s local market presence, following the recent arrival of Maxime Prus, Manager Content & Distribution, as well as the promotion of Steven Van de Broek to Account Director Client Experience, and Julie Wymeersch to Senior Associate Client Experience within the Belgian market team.
Speaking about the agency’s expansion, Erik Lenaers, Associate Director and Belgian market lead, said: "I am very proud to lead such a talented team that continues to grow. Each member has a unique skill set, which enhances our work’s performance and consistency. The integration of these new team members is the next step for our team. 2018 has been an exceptional year for the agency and I look forward to working with this team to further expand our presence in the Belgian market in 2019."
Speaking about the new appointments and promotions, Nora Lawton, Co-Managing Director of Weber Shandwick Brussels, said: “I am thrilled to welcome talented professionals like Kevin, Liedewij, Maxime, Shelley and Lisa into our award-winning Belgian market team; coupled with the well-deserved promotions of Steven and Julie – this serves to reinforce our existing capabilities and allow us to continue doing impactful work for our diverse client base.”
