Weber Shandwick renews Belgian leadership: Steven Van de Broek takes role of Belgian Market Lead

After eight years as Belgian Market Lead, Erik Lenaers focuses on growth for the Brussels office within the EMEA organisation

Weber Shandwick appoints Steven Van de Broek as Belgian Market Lead. In this role he is responsible for activities on the Belgian market. Steven succeeds Erik Lenaers, who will in turn focus on operations within the Brussels office and the connection with the wider EMEA network in the role of Head of Growth. Isabelle Coppens becomes Head of Clients and Christian Prior Head of Expertise. Mónica Vicente Cristina remains as Managing Director of Weber Shandwick Belgium. The strategic shifts follow the strong growth of the office in recent years and are aimed at the further expansion of Weber Shandwick as a strategic communications agency specialized in Corporate Communications, Public Relations and Public Affairs with expertise in Health, Tech, Professional Services, Sustainability and Agrifood.

"In an ever-changing landscape, it is important as an agency to grow with the changes. It is therefore important to have your homegrown talent to help shape the organisation," says Mónica Vicente Cristina, Managing Director of Weber Shandwick Belgium. "Steven couples extensive expertise and experience with proven leadership qualities. This makes him the perfect person to take over Erik's role and strengthen Weber Shandwick's position in the Belgian market."

After more than eight years as Belgian Market Lead, Erik Lenaers is taking up a new challenge within the agency. In recent years as Belgian Market Lead, he built up the expertise and capabilities of the Belgian team and contributed to the strong growth of the Brussels office. "It is therefore a logical next step to now further focus on the growth of the office while also maintaining the connection with the EMEA network. I am therefore pleased that I can now take the next step in my career within the organisation. Of course, I will remain involved in the Belgian client portfolio," says Erik Lenaers.

Steven Van de Broek says: "I am honoured to take on the role of Belgian Market Lead and look forward to continuing to build on the further expansion of our sector knowledge and expertise together with our talented team so that we can serve our customers even better. In doing so, we want more than ever to translate the network's knowledge, tools and expertise to a Belgian market context, enabling us to offer even more added value to our clients."

Weber Shandwick Brussels is part of the international The Weber Shandwick Collective (TWSC) and combines a strong presence on the Belgian market with international assignments in various disciplines. It specialises in corporate communications, PR and PA in various sectors, including Health, Professional Services, Sustainability & Agrifood and Tech.
