WORLD CHOCOLATE MASTERS ANNOUNCES TOP 10 CHEFS ENTERING GRAND FINAL

30 October 2022, Paris - The World Chocolate Masters announces the top 10 chefs set to compete in tomorrow’s Grand Final. This weekend, 18 world class chefs from around the globe went head to head in five bespoke chocolate assignments under the watchful eye of the jury, presided by Amaury Guichon. Tomorrow, the top 10 will cross spatulas one last time during the Grand Final, before one is crowned the ultimate winner.
This weekend, Paris is the place to be for those with a sweet tooth. Chocolatiers, pâtissiers and chocolate artisans all around the world are following the World Chocolate Masters final – hoping to catch a glimpse of what the crème de la crème in their industry can do under pressure.

And those watching at home were in for a treat. In the last two days, all 18 chefs once again showcased why they had the honor of representing their country at the World Chocolate Masters 2022. In five tantalizing assignments, they excelled and expressed their chocolate talent – with tastes and creativity that stood a cut above the rest. All of this was made possible by months of training in their atelier and in the Chocolate Academy, together with their ‘chocolate godparent’ – a Chocolate Academy chef assigned to each finalist to support and advise during their preparation for the competition.
World class creations
Invited to express their vision of how tomorrow may taste, the competing chefs faced a series of challenges designed to evoke all the senses and put their expertise to the test:
- #SHARE is all about sharing moments of chocolate, with chefs tasked to create a chocolate gift for six people or more.
- Storytelling with chocolate: that’s what #WOW is all about, where chefs are challenged to craft a window shop display that takes pride of place in any chocolate dream
- #TASTE challenges chefs to make a fresh chocolate patisserie from scratch, where their vision of tomorrow takes on a local flavor with the inclusion of an ingredient sourced close to home
- The finalists are tasked with creating an innovative #BONBON with at least two different textures – one that shows their vision of tomorrow and has a shelf life of at least two weeks
Top ten finalists
The jury had the hard task of picking the best of the best: selecting the top 10 out of all 18 finalists. Since its start in 2005, the World Chocolate Masters has always given free rein to finalists to express their artistic and culinary talent with chocolate. Both disciplines are well presented in the jury evaluation.
Amaury Guichon, Head of the WCM Jury, underlines the difficulty of selecting the top 10: “These past two days have once again shown why the World Chocolate Masters continues to be the world’s biggest and most beautiful chocolate competition. In the quest to determine the next great chocolatier, we saw show-stopping new techniques and skills that proved the talent and creativity of all 18 competing chefs. The standard has been extremely high, with only the smallest of details setting apart the top 10 set to advance to tomorrows Grand Final.”
The top 10* chefs that will battle for the grand title of World Chocolate Master can now be unveiled.
